WorkInTrades is designed to provide transparent occupational data, career exploration guides, and vocational education resources to students, young adults, parents, counselors, schools, and industry partners.

- Contact Inquiries & Prospect Requests: If you request assessment results via email or submit a contact inquiry, we collect your email address and optional first name.
- Communications: If you communicate with us via email, we collect the contents of your message, email headers, and any attachments.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Technical & Log Data: When you access the Platform, our hosting and infrastructure providers (such as Vercel and Supabase) automatically record standard technical log data, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and timestamp.
- Client-Side Filtering: Search queries and category filter selections executed in our trade directory occur locally within your browser and are not transmitted to tracking or analytics services.
C. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect social security numbers, precise geolocation, financial account numbers, or date of birth.
- We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics services.

3. Student & Minor Privacy
WorkInTrades is committed to protecting the privacy of students and young adults exploring skilled trade careers:
- No Account Required for Exploration: Students and young adults can explore all 30 trade guides, compare wage benchmarks, and review training providers without creating an account or providing personal information.
- Under-13 Policy: Our Platform is a general-audience educational resource. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us without parental consent, please contact us at privacy@workintrades.online so we can promptly delete the information.
- Assessment Context: Our career assessment tools allow parents and educators to explore trade paths on behalf of students without linking student responses to an individual user identity.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information only with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our Platform under strict confidentiality and security obligations:
- Database & Auth Infrastructure: Supabase (data storage, authentication, and edge functions).
- Hosting & Edge Delivery: Vercel (web application hosting, global edge CDN, and server logs).
- Email Delivery: Amazon Web Services (AWS SES and S3 for administrative and inbound email processing).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties or advertising networks.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
WorkInTrades uses no tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
The only cookies used on the Platform are strictly necessary session cookies issued to authorized personnel upon signing into the administrative gateway. You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies, but administrative portal features will not function without necessary authentication cookies.
6. Data Security & Retention
We maintain technical and organizational safeguards appropriate for an educational career platform, including SSL/TLS encryption in transit and database Row Level Security (RLS) policies. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain prospect email requests and inquiry records only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of collection or comply with applicable legal obligations. Career assessment guest tokens automatically expire after 30 days.
